Denver Magicians Make Good |
| TwoHatz refers to myself and another comic magician and
this idea we had that helps benefactors raise money. There are two of us
(thus the 'Two') and 'Hatz' refers to the European art of busking... or
passing the hat at the end of a show for donations. While we never 'pass
the hat' at the end of the show, this model is a great way to raise funds.
The basic idea is that we perform a full one and a half to two hour
professional stage show for a group that needs to raise money. In
addition, we provide a website to sell the tickets, marketing and
everything to make a wonderful night that the town will not soon forget.
The benefactor sells tickets and provides a theater location for the show.
Both parties split the profits. There are other things the benefactor can capitalize upon to raise extra funds including selling food concessions, raffle tickets, etc. All concessions go to the benefactor. I think that it would be a very simple matter for a group of 20 boyscouts to sell enough tickets to generate a thousand dollars or more. The suggested breakdown of the ticket prices, sales, and profits can be emailed if you'd like. Let me tell you about the show. It's crazy. And professional. And really... really... fun. Both performers have been doing magic and comedy for a long, long time. Haywire, of course, has been on television, comedy clubs, and cruise ships, while the other magician has been a professional corporate entertainer and has has performed for more people and large corporations then we could count. I am sure that you can see that this is a pretty good model for fundraising. Boys that are from 6 to 12 LOVE magic, and our show is perfect for the entire family. The entire family will love the show, and the rest of the town will love it for years to come! |
